FAQ

  1. Who are the Glendale Knights?
    1. We are the Glendale Little League Select/Travel Baseball Club.
  2.  Why should my child play with the Knights?
    1. The Glendale Knights are a premier, not-for-profit, community-based organization with strong focus on fundamental baseball instruction and player development. Our players regularly compete at high levels against local and regional competition and strive to represent the district in state competitions.
  3. What is the difference between the Knights and Glendale Little League?
    1. The Knights program is ideal for players seeking additional development and competition via regional games and tournaments.  While the Knights and Glendale Little League are two different entities, we have a strong working relationship and encourage all players in the Glendale Little League to try-out for the Knights program.  Likewise, all players in the Knights program must play in the Glendale Little League program.
  4. How can my child register to play for the Glendale Knights?
    1. Click on the registration link. Tryouts for future Knights players are held in July.
  5. How many players make the team after tryouts?
    1. Each team is composed of approximately 12 baseball players. Depending on level of interest, two teams can be created for each age group. In certain situations, we may offer a practice squad position which entitles the player to practice and continue their development with the team.
  6. What age groups do the Knights compete in?
    1. Currently, we offer teams from 8U through 14U. We are in discussions of adding a U15 team for the 2027 season.
  7. How can I help coach a Knights team?
    1. Coaches are selected by the Knights board of directors. If interested in coaching, please email us at [email protected].
  8.  Can my child play for the Knights without playing in GLL?
    1. All Knights players 8U through 12U must be registered with and participate in GLL to be eligible to play for the Knights. Knights players at the 13U and 14U age levels are exempt from this rule.
  9. When are the practices and games?
    1.  The season starts with fall practices and games, on average once or twice a week. Winter season starts in January with once weekly indoor practices on the weekends. The main season is spring/summer with practices and games scheduled from April to June.
  10.  Who do the Knights compete against?
    1.  The U9 through U12 Knights teams compete in four to five local/regional tournaments during the Spring season. The U8 and U13/U14 teams compete in local/regional leagues (WSYBL) as well as some tournament games. These leagues are composed of other city-select teams throughout the Greater Milwaukee area.
  11. What is the fee to play for the Knights?
    1.  The registration fees are listed on the registration page. These fees include all baseball related costs including: indoor/outdoor practices, grounds fees, league and tournament fees, and team equipment costs.
  12. Do you offer financial assistance for the registration fee?
    1. Financial assistance can be considered on a case-by-case basis. In addition, fundraisers are offered to help decrease the costs to individual families. Please inquire if interested.
